Arswandaru, born in Surakarta, Indonesia in 1990, commenced his career twelve years ago as an illustrator, initially as a pencil artist at a comic publisher in Jakarta. He embarked on his professional journey while completing his studies at the University of Indonesia, later advancing to the University of Hamburg, Germany. Over time, he began to concentrate on his personal projects and undertook client commissions both domestically and internationally. His drawing style and characters evolved significantly, yet he endeavored to maintain the essence of his comic illustration style. A pivotal influence shaping his work has been skateboarding and music. Having grown up immersed in skateboarding, he naturally gravitated towards music and graphic design.
As the years passed, his career as an illustrator and graphic designer flourished. He undertook numerous commission works across diverse sectors, including skateboarding, music (record labels, bands), street wear, and specialized automotive workshops like BMW. His design portfolio includes collaborations with Buttergoods, Vans, Zodiac, Element Skateboards, Xlarge (Japan & US), Deus Ex Machina, Big Crown Records, Mild High Club, Fela Kuti, among others.
