Debora E. Yuza (Yooza) is an illustrator whose work blends her passion for food and art. She completed her formal education in marketing at Deakin University Melbourne, before working full-time as a marketing professional in one of
Jakarta’s leading F&B companies. In 2017, she picked up her brush as a form of catharsis—an act that unintentionally set the stage for her entry into the creative world. Through self-study, she discovered the magic of watercolor and later expanded her repertoire to include gouache. The joy and challenge of these mediums led her to focus on food illustration, where she found a rewarding balance of creativity and satisfaction.
In her first solo exhibition Habis // Sisa, Deby chose acrylic as her medium. Allowing herself to explore working on a larger scale and experiment with non-traditional surfaces beyond just paper or canvas. Her illustrations continue to explore the fluid, abstract nature of food, a subject that deeply inspires her. This exhibition celebrates the layers, dimensions, and intricate details of food, with each piece crafted as a culinary experience that transcends the palate.
